Bradley J. Waugh - Featured Webinar Panelist
Brad Waugh, Board Chair of Life Wear Technologies is the producer of the CryoMAX product which is the leading cold therapy system, utilizing the patented “Points of Cold” technology which allows it to last eight hours after freezing. CryoMAX is manufactured in the USA and is available in over 30,000 retail stores.
Over the last seven years, Brad navigated his company, Life Wear Technologies, through tariffs from the first Trump administration, into the Biden era, and now into the current Trump administration. During that time, he relocated five manufacturing facilities out of Guangzhou China into India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the USA. He ended up buying the facilities in both Vietnam and India. Brad successfully negotiated foreign trade zones in Florida, Rhode Island, and Texas. In order to set up successfully in the USA, Brad arranged State training grants, distribution/warehouse partners, shipping contracts, tax abatements, manufacturing credits, and the political contacts at the State & Federal levels to smooth the process to a successful conclusion.
Life Wear Technologies has successfully verticalized and distributed its product & distribution into multiple locations, and the move to the USA resulted in a 30% decrease in COGS, while reducing the turnaround on orders from 90 days to 14 days. In addition, the company has adopted a “just in time” production philosophy which has reduced warehouse space by 50%. This five year odyssey has resulted in stronger relationships with AMAZON, Walmart, Walgreens, Cardinal Health, and McKesson, to name a few, for the production of Class I medical devices. The company is now working diligently to move its Class II medical devices.
